Lasted Leather Bowl
A leather bowl. Made from two pieces of vegetable tanned leather, lasted and adhered together. Individually hand dyed. Each piece is one of a kind.
About the lasting process: Often seen in traditional shoe making, wet and heated leather is stretched over a wooden form and then tacked into place and left to dry. Once completely dry the leather will become stiff and retain the shape it dried in. In this case a bowl shape. The final result can sometimes be mistaken for wood but is in fact leather all the way through.
